Open Letter to President Elect Donald Trump

Dariush Sajjadi’s Open Letter to President Elect Donald Trump

Your Excellency Mr. Donald Trump, President Elect of the United States,
I am writing to present a fact about the letter 30 Iranians in diaspora have recently submitted to you, requesting your assistance to topple the Iranian administration through enforcing more stringent economic bans on Iran and rescinding the nuclear agreement between Iran and 5+1.

Mr. Trump,
This letter, viewed from any political perspective, serves as a prime example of treason. Just as the Americans regard Edward Snowden seeking asylum in Russia and providing Kremlin with US classified information as acts of treason, the Iranians also view these thirty individuals’ letter to you as treason.

Mr. Trump,
I would like to share a secret with you: These 30 individuals in no way regard their letter to you as an act of treason. They rather regard it as a service to the Iranian people.

Mr. Trump,
The fact that they do not regard themselves as traitors is not attributed to them being deceitful. It rather stems from the fact that the Iranian people have not come up with a clear definition of treason. As such, if these 30 individuals even attempt to define treason, they will fall short of doing so.
This inability is due to the fact that Iran’s education system does not cover treason and the ugliness of treasonous action. As such, a nation which is unfamiliar with the term treason and which has no perception of what treason is, can easily commit treason time and again without a guilty conscience.

Mr. Trump,
The Iranians, untrained on what treason is, can commit treason against their country without even knowing their action is treasonous, just as they can cheat on their spouses despite their marital vows.

Mr. Trump,
When you take office, please ask the CIA to provide you with a roster of Iranians in diaspora working for organizations and state-run television stations who are officially and overtly embarking on treason against Iran. You will be surprised at how long this roster will be. You will be even more surprised as to what kind of a country Iran is to raise people such as General Qasem Suleimani, a national hero, on the one hand and to produce and deliver all kinds of traitors to foreign governments.

Mr. Trump,
Let me share another secret with you: Not only do the 30 individuals who penned a letter to you do not consider their action as an act of treason but, based on their letter, you should never think that they have a problem with the Iranian administration. Not at all, Mr. Trump.

Iran has suffered from a disorder previously known as “infatuation with the West” and currently known as “enslavement toward the West” based on which individuals consciously consider themselves slaves and servants of the West.
People suffering from this disorder suffer from inferiority complex and try to hide it through acting like and assimilating with the Americans.
The letter penned by these 30 Iranians does not stem from their differences with the Iranian administration. Rather, they abhor their Iranian heritage, culture, and traditions and are infatuated with and mentally enslaved with the American culture and civilization and attempt, through these kinds of correspondences and other similar activities, to disavow being Iranian and pose as American in thought and action.
Worried over your campaign pledge of “deporting Muslims from the US”, this group, though they do not consider themselves Muslims, has subconsciously tried, through this letter, to get the upper hand and according to an old Iranian saying wag its tail for its owner as a loyal dog does, in order to curry favor with you.

Mr. Trump,
If I were you and decided to fulfill campaign pledges such as “deporting Muslims from the US”, I would, first and foremost, deport these servants. Rest assured that these deceitful individuals who fail to be loyal to their homeland cannot be loyal citizens for the US and will commit treason against the US when the time is ripe.

Thank you for your time and attention.
Respectfully yours,

Dariush Sajjadi
